1. Preventative maintenance - planned maintenance carried out on a scheduled basis 2. Corrective maintenance - as a response to any faults 3. Customer maintenance - providing a Helpdesk service for fault reporting
Prevention is better than cure. Preventative maintenance helps to spot potential/small problems before they become bigger issues. A thorough system service will include:
- Visually inspect all major components and connections for signs of deterioration or damage
- Check all control equipment for correct operation
- Check integrity of all cabling and sample check external insulation for damage
- Clean cable fixings for security
- Check auxiliary lighting equipment, infra-red units and photocells (if any) for correct operation
- Check all glands and seals on external equipment
- Establish regular back-ups are taken (with help of customer)
- Check camera alignment and pictures for correct field of view and adjust as necessary
- Check pan and tilt assembly (if any) including fixings and electrical connections
- Check warning signs are in place
